Wyoming Medical Center helps not only patients in Casper, but patients from around the state, but what happens when a quick check-up turns into an extended stay?
A recent partnership with Greiner Ford in Casper raised funds for a new Masterson Place for families to stay while loved ones get treatment.
The Masterson place serves as a hotel for patients and families and WMC staff said the current one has been around since the 1950s and some feel it's time for a new one.
The new place is estimated at six million dollars WMC staff said they have already raised half of the funds.
Wednesday the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation accepted a check for the project.
Wyoming Medical Center Foundation Director Caryn Dowell shared, "For the whole month of July, they (Greiner Ford) were going to donate $100 from every car that they sold. They ended up extending it into half of August because they said they wanted to raise more money for us, which was really generous and I was all for it of course, and we ended up getting a check for ten thousand six hundred dollars as a result."
Dowell added the new place would be constructed behind the hospital on third and Washington Street and construction is set to begin this winter or early spring.
