The bull-dog student-athletes at Roosevelt High School will enjoy a competitive edge, thanks to a thousand-dollar, California Casualty Thomas R. Brown Athletics grant.
Roosevelt High will use the grant to buy much needed basketballs and jerseys for the team.
Another Wyoming school, Carey Jr. High in Cheyenne also received a thousand-dollar grant this year.
The schools are among 79 public middle and high schools in 33 states awarded a total of 83-thousand dollars to aid athletic departments affected by tight budgets.
The grant is named after California Casualty Chairman Thomas R. Brown an avid sportsman who believes in helping more students learn valuable lessons of teamwork and confidence.
