Update: Afternoon Wildland Fire Sparked in Natrona County

NCFD reported the fire was contained at approximately 9:00 pm Thursday night.

Close to 200 acres were burned.

NATRONA COUNTY, Wyo. (KCWY) - Natrona County Fire District told News 13 they responded to a wildland fire South of Powder River along County Road 210.

The call came in around 2:40 pm this afternoon. The fire is believed to have been sparked by lightning in the area.

Fire officials reported 150 acres have burned and the BLM, NC Fire and Mills Fire all responded with brush trucks and are working to ban the flames.

The Single Engine Air Tankers (SAT) are dropping retardant on the fire as well.
